Installation Guide and Safety Warning

Replacing a microwave globe is not like changing a lightbulb in your hallway. Even if you’ve pulled the plug, microwave ovens can hold a dangerous, even lethal, amount of power inside the high-voltage capacitors. If you aren’t trained to handle a chassis, you shouldn’t be poking around inside.

If you do have the technical knowledge to proceed:

• Ensure the unit is completely disconnected from the power.
• You’ll usually need to remove the outer cover (watch out for hidden screws).
• Locate the lamp holder and use pliers to carefully pull the terminals away.
• Lift out the old globe and push the new one straight into place.
• Make sure the shield and any protective cover are fitted back exactly as they were.
